Keenspot Helps With Hurricane Relief Efforts

Sept. 19. 2005. In an effort to provide relief to the victims of hurricane Katrina’s onslaught, Keenspot execs sponsored the Webcomic Hurricane Relief Telethon.

The way it worked was that every 20 minutes a new webcomic was broadcast while viewers where encouraged to donate. The broadcast apparently included many favorites from the Keenspot lineup including, according to the Keenspot website (www.keenspot.com), a sneak peek of a yet to be released Spot webcomic called GOD MODE by artist Ryan Kerns. The campaign was successful and raised nearly 20,000 dollars in just the first 24 hours.

It is also interesting to note that there was also an adult webcomics version of the telethon that made nearly two thousand dollars.

You can find the site at: http://wlpcomics.com/telethon/ (NSFW)

As a side note, we at the CG Newsletter would like to thank Keenspot Entertainment for their efforts in this matter.
